Labor Day 2011

Every year on Labor Day weekend, we head to a cabin with my extended family. And each year, we are having more and more fun. As the girls get older, they are partaking in much more of the activities, and this year was no different. From fishing to tubing, it's always so much fun. When we returned home today, I asked them
what the best part of their weekend was, and without hesitation they both screamed "fishing!". Thank goodness my mom is willing to patiently sit on a dock, baiting hook after hook and removing fish after fish as they catch fish faster than we can count.
I got right in there too, cutting up worms and baiting...you'd think we had boys!
My favorite part was this...yep, me and Sidney and Olivia tubing in 60 degree temps "When in Rome!".
Here's a collage from day one (and a half)...
The girls enjoy the atmosphere at this restaurant, not to mention the gigantic statue of Lucy out front and the enormous salt water aquarium inside.
My cousin's girls along with ours. In order of age they are 2 (who are we kidding, Sidney is just a few days shy of 3), 4, 5 and 7. Each year, they become best of friends in just a few short minutes; all without seeing each other since the previous year.

Our last day was a bit chilly. The breeze off the lake made some fear frost bite!! Obviously, none of the girls cared much, dropping line after line into the water and waiting for a fish to take the bobber under.
And then of course, after the kids go to bed, the adults tend to toss things into the fire that clearly aren't meant to be in the fire. Watching this glow necklace boil and burn was pretty cool though. Just don't breathe in the fumes.
Taking it all in on the last morning sunrise.
Until next year!
