2023 High School softball

What feels like forever ago, the girls wrapped up their high school softball season. Sidney on the 9th grade team, with a perfect record for the season and winning Best Defensive Player of the Year.
Regan on the Varsity team, with some time behind the plate as well as in the field. At the end of the year banquet, Regan honored one of the senior players by giving Tatum's Senior speech. We all shed a few tears as she spoke confidently in front of a room full of 150 people.
The sport is not always about the skills on the field, but the life-long skills learned along the way.

Go Jags!

Regan's high school softball team started their season this month and it's been so great to see these girls back together again.
They haven't played on the same team in 2 years, as they are all on separate club teams. So when they all made the JV team this season, it felt like we won our own lottery!
And to make it better, their parents are pretty fun too :)

I had to purchase their "Covid mask" team picture from the professional photographer. It certainly is a memory.

Regan has been catching Maria since 10U and she absolutely loves to catch her now just as much as she did then! She's consistent and hits her spots; and it was so fun to see this duo back out there together again.

She's having a good season, working hard behind the plate and getting some great hits at bat. High school ball isn't nearly as competitive as club. Her coaches move around the girls to various positions, she even played outfield last weekend. A place she hasn't played in years! She was a little relieved not to get any balls hit to her :)
No matter where she's at, we sure love to watch her play!

JHS softball banquet

As one season ended, the other was just getting started. Regan spent about 8 weeks playing on 2 Softbsll teams (and still dancing). It was chaotic and wild, but she absolutely adored her high school softball  experience and wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
High school teams always end the season with a banquet and Regan was pretty excited to have this opportunity.
She spent the season playing on the 9th grade team, with other 7th-8th-9th graders. At the last game, each girl voted on the best defensive player, best offensive player and most improved.
Much to all of our delight, Regan was voted best defensive player!
She loved these two coaches her helped her grow and develop in the most amazing ways.

A couple friends with their awards from various other teams too.

We are so proud, and I love how she too is so proud of herself!

We can’t have too many serious pictures; these guys had a little fun that night!
