Those eyes!

The wonderful winter weather we are having at the end of April, forced an indoor picnic yesterday. Regan didn't seem to mind, she was having a great time! This morning the snow started to wear on her though when she realized I wasn't budging at her requests to stop at the park to play.

Baby brother...

...or sister. Regan seems to think she's getting a baby brother, but only two people know right now: the ultrasound tech and God. Here's our first photo of the baby! We get to go back for another ultrasound next month so we look forward to more pictures. For now, all is well :)

Busted!

Regan decided to take a break from a hard morning of playing outside yesterday and steal a drink of daddy's coffee! He was busy doing yardwork, but she had no idea I was keeping track of her and taking pictures! By the looks of the second picture, she did manage to get some coffee out of his mug, despite the lid being closed. Not to worry, it was cold by the time she found it and there wasn't much left (for the grandparents who are worried we just stunted the growth of our child).
It was a gorgeous day and we managed to spend all of it outside, minus a 2 hour nap. We also picked out a helmet for her to wear while biking, this after she showed us how fast she can get on her bike and managed to get up onto 2 wheels taking a fast turn! Thankfully she thinks her helmet is pretty cool :)

Park fun

Regan spent Monday afternoon playing at the park with Grandma Sheri. She was in her glory and had a difficult time leaving. She's a brave sole and has no problems going down slides, swinging and watching the big kids run around. Thankfully she listens well and doesn't attempt the "big" slide on her own quite yet!
On a side note, we had a bit of an exciting weekend....Regan's hair started on fire! So we know we aren't the only parents whose kid gets a little close to a candle, but thankfully no one got hurt. She was asking mommy to smell a pretty flower on a table (we were at a surprise birthday party) and as we leaned in to smell the flower, Regan tipped her head to one side and her pony caught on fire! Daddy screamed and mommy grabbed her pony to put out the fire without a second thought. It was all over as quickly as it started, but we were all pretty stunned. Her hair shows no signs of the event-but she's quick to remind you that candles are very hot!

Helping mommy make dinner

Regan has gone from hating mashed potatoes (last year) to not being able to wait until they are on her plate to eat them! Today she licked the mixer as we waited for the rest of dinner to finish :) I couldn't resist catching some of it on camera. Her Oscar the Grouch t-shirt, which she picked out to wear today, matched her attitude for most of the day. Can't say I blame her, it was a pretty dreary day and all of us are hoping to get outside to play soon.

So sweet! Or not.

This morning we headed outside to play in the beautiful weather before taking Regan to her very first movie-in the theater! Yep, we took her to see Horten Hears a Who! after hearing some good reviews. Regan did as well as you would expect any 2 year old to do. The plot was a little over her head, but she seemed to enjoy the popcorn and pop (at 10:30 in the morning!).

Just a quick story-the other night we were reading Regan a book about being a big sister. She leaned down and gave the baby in the book a kiss (or so we thought)-awww, so sweet! After a few more leans into the book, I asked her if she was kissing the baby and she said "no, I eat ice cream"! Turns out she was pretending to lick the ice cream cone of the big sister!!

"I stinky"

Regan was on the phone with Nana and Papa just before bath time tonight. When she told them she had to go take a bath, Nana asked if she was dirty, she replied "no, I stinky"! We all got a good laugh out of it :)
You can see on her forehead the remains of the bump from daycare last week. She's healed well and it's just a little green-ish bruise now. Over the weekend, while she watched basketball with daddy, she spotted a player with a band-aid on his head and asked daddy for a band-aid. When he asked her where to put it, she said on her ouch on her head! She walked around the rest of the day with a band-aid on her head, at that point it no longer needed the band-aid but she sure thought it did! When we asked her to take it off and if it was all better, she'd reply "not yet!" with her cute little grin :)
