May little things

With the pace at which we are moving around these days, I'm going to borrow the idea of monthly "little things" and hopefully it will mean at least a memory of the fun things that happened throughout each month. We'll start with May little things.

We shared some fun lunches before the end of school with the girls and their adorable friends.

Mother's day came and went, was full of love from our little ones and a (not as terribly long as I thought) U of MN Graduation commencement ceremony.

Regan performed in her band concert, then raced over to her dress rehearsal before having to skip softball practice for the night with all the other hoopla going on.

Our girls had a combined 4 dance recitals and together performed 14 dances and I sat through all of it :)

We started playing summer ball, then it got cold and then it got warm again. And although it's June, I still have the bag of hats, mittens and warm clothes in my trunk....just in case.

Sidney won player of the game.

And then took 2nd place in her gymnastics meet! Way to go Sidney :)

Ryan ventured over to Germany for a week of travel, fun and far too much food! We were very jealous that he left us behind.

The kids and I ventured to New Ulm while Ryan was away and got to meet one of my dad's trees on the golf course.  Plus I managed to help my mom do some tree trimming and somehow the girls and I ended up on the roof of the shed as I trimmed trees!

It was a wild month, but I wouldn't want it any other way! And just like that we were on to end of school events and the beginning of summer.

Regan's 8th birthday party day

Regan gathered up 13 of her closest friends (and thankfully added her sister), and ventured to celebrate her birthday in this cold snap we've been having. To say that her friend's parents were THRILLED at the idea of a 2 hour gymnastics party, well, that's an understatement. This winter has been downright brutal. And every kid is itching with energy to run and jump and scream.
And last weekend, these 14 girls had their chance!

Our gym doesn't do parties, so she asked to have her party at another local gym. She later confessed that the whole reason she wanted to come here, is because of this aparatus, done especially with the birthday girl. Boy was she excited! (and now you can only imagine that Sid wants a turn).

Last year, I was brave enough to host her party at home. This year, with a new baby in tow and way too many germs being spread around, we were pleased as punch to let someone else take the reins of hosting. The staff at this place even told me to stop cleaning up at one point!, fine by me :)

Ryan, Lincoln and I enjoyed watching all the girls have so much fun as they played, non-stop, for 90 minutes. Running around, yelling, flipping and jumping. They had so much fun. Best part, is there were NO tears!! How we managed to get away without any drama is beyond me, because let's just say, 8 year olds can produce a LOT of tears :)

It was all smiles this year, including her cake!
Happy 8th birthday Regan! We love you to pieces!

Gymnastics session ending

Tonight was Regan's final gymnastics class of the session. She has thoroughly enjoyed gymnastics classes over the past 8 months. She has learned how to do handstands, cartwheels, forward and backward rolls; now it's on to perfecting those skills. Hopefully she won't lose too much ground while we take the summer off.
Working on kicking her legs up high during hand stands
Ta-Da!! "Look at me"!!

Celebration dinner, her choice!
Not to be outdone, little sister needed a moment too :)
