It's hot outside. I'm not complaining, by ANY means. I love the heat. Well, I love the heat outdoors...... Our A/C is on the fritz. About to be permanently replaced, because, well, trying to stay comfortable when it's 89 indoors is next to impossible. Sleeping in it is completely impossible. I've actually considered sleeping in the pool; seriously, it's more than crossed my mind (I've gone so far as to wonder how I would keep the mosquitoes away!).
This morning, we hopped into the pool just to cool off. No kidding. We were hot and there wasn't anything I could suggest that would help. Poor Sidney would walk over to the thermostat and beg "turn that on mommy". Ahh, but it's no longer that easy.
Somehow we managed to pry ourselves out of the pool this afternoon and attend a going away party for a dear coworker of mine...held outside nonetheless. You know it's hot out when a boat, sitting in someone's backyard, just starts on fire without a spark! We witnessed that this afternoon; calling 911 and sending friends with fire extinguishers to put it out.
So in this heat, we hurried back home and, you guessed it, jumped back into the pool.
(Why the hose?, because when it's this hot, the water evaporates and the pool can't function properly without adding more water. So we add water regularly, often splashing through it as it runs in the pool. This "filling up" process can take hours).
