Regan has been playing ball for the better part of the last 3 months and we aren't done yet! (which is a good thing because it's so much fun for all of us). Last weekend was her state tournament in a northern suburb. We had to be at the field by 8am for her first game. They played very well winning game one and moving forward in the double elimination tournament.
After a quick break, it was on to game 2 which didn't end in a victory. Our girls were getting tired and we had a lot of play left ahead of us.
So they vegged out and were able to come back to win game #3. That meant for the first time in the season, they were preparing to play their 4th game in one day. That's a whole lot of softball for a group of 10 year olds on a hot summer day. After a quick team trip for some ice cream (they were in desperate need of air conditioning and sugar!), it was game time! Sadly, they couldn't pull out a win and our time at state came to an end. They cheered and played hard and we are so proud of Regan and all of her teammates!
A big thank you to all of the grandparents for spending the day at the fields with us. I have to say, the team favorite was when my friend and her service dog showed up....everyone forgot how to read and the sign on his pack (DO NOT PET) was quietly ignored as he made himself comfortable between games in the shade with all of the kids :)
(Lincoln even drove his car around Baylor's back while sneaking in a warm snuggle...)
Congrats Regan and Bloomington Boltz, next up: Nationals!
