Dentist?!

Even after watching countless hours of Finding Nemo, we somehow managed to get Regan to the dentist without much of a battle. For those of you who haven't seen it recently, there are quite a few scenes in a crazy dentist office. She did amazingly well after we got her to sit on my lap in the chair (she was apprehensive about that big chair that moved on its own). I was only thinking they'd take a peek inside and just count her teeth. She did so well that they did a cleaning and fluoride treatment!! We were pretty proud of how brave she was. She was just happy to get some stickers and a new toothbrush! And the best part....no cavities!

Como!

We headed over to the Como Conservatory this morning and let's just say the humidity inside never felt so nice!! We all quickly shed our winter jackets and slowly made it through all the park areas taking in the smells of spring and summer. It was lovely :) Regan enjoyed watching the fish, smelling the flowers and even touching them (shhh, don't tell anyone!). It was a good lesson in pollen. It's so pretty inside the flower gardens and now we're all ready for spring to arrive. We were reminded that it is only February (and we were still in Minnesota) when we left and the wind choked us with its crispness. :(

After playing photographer for some strangers, they were nice enough to offer to take our family photo. Thank goodness there were a few of them because they were able to capture the girls attention and even get some smiles!

Just another day

But she's so cute we couldn't resist posting this picture of Sidney in her skull shirt :) Not much is new around here, we're all incredibly bored with winter. It certainly got worse when Regan broke her collar bone because now going outside to sled and play is off limits with all the ice on the ground. So inside we sit, and long for spring. We're hoping to head over to the Como Conservatory tomorrow to catch a glimpse of spring flowers! Sidney's been keeping us busy with her rolling, smiles and laughs as well as her busy eating schedule between bottles and now food. Regan is enjoying playing with all of her birthday presents and showing Sidney them all. We've realized that child-proofing for the second baby is completely different than the first; now we have to worry about all those little pieces/toys of Regan's! How will we keep two separate play areas?! This could get challenging.

Here's a video of Sidney rolling over. She was doing it over and over again and wouldn't you know it, I pull out the camera and it takes her forever!! I think she got too excited :)

3 year pictures!

We had Regan's 3 year pictures taken just before her birthday; here's a little preview! She's getting into the "fake" smile stage, which is incredibly annoying but still somehow cute. Hope you enjoy :)

Sidney finally rolled over! She went over her left arm in this position and onto her back; FINALLY!! Apparently she learned a thing or two from Hudson on Sunday :) Unfortunately dad missed it when he walked away for just a second :(

Too much partying for Regan!

We celebrated Regan's 3rd birthday on Sunday! It was wonderful and she had so much fun with all of the family coming up to help celebrate. She was blessed with way too many toys and clothes (again!) though unfortunately isn't able to use some of her new toys because of her injury right now. She didn't mind sharing and letting Sidney test out her new bike and everyone got a good laugh! Regan was pretty much on a sugar high all day because no one could say no to her asking for candy at the store, another cookie at her party and finally birthday cake and ice cream! Needless to say, she didn't go to bed on time, though she crashed pretty hard when she did finally fall asleep!

At her 3 yr appointment last week, she was 33 lbs (75th percentile) and 38.5 in tall (90th percentile)! The doctor said she's tall and skinny, just like everyone wants to be :)

It was a day

of fun (minus the broken collar bone and trip to Urgent Care)...but we got a heart shapped pizza for dinner!! YUMMY!

Danceline and OUCH!

A very short dance

We took the girls to the state danceline competition Friday night. It brought tears to my eyes watching Regan watch the "dancers". She got into the dancing and at one point told me to hold her shoulder and hook up like a kick line!

Unfortunately when we got home Regan/dad were playing hide and seek when she took a tumble off the bed (our king size bed).....she broke her collar bone :( She'll be alright and did amazingly well at Urgent Care for x-rays, but we're learning there is never a dill moment in our lives!

I think I like this?!

Sidney got sweet potatoes again tonight :) She's not real sure if she likes them or not. Some bites she smiles, others she tries to spit them out (like in the first picture!). We're finding that we don't care if she's 'neat' when she eats; what's more important is that she's actually eating! Plus Regan gets a kick out of seeing Sidney's messy face!

5 months old!

I forgot to take this picture until just before bed last night. Ryan said I should just wait but I insisted it be taken on the exact day, so you're getting a picture of Sidney in her jammies :) We're hoping she will master a few tasks (like sitting and rolling) this month, but our little peanut seems so tiny that we're okay with her staying in the tiny baby stages a little longer. She's starting to eat (and more importantly like) baby cereal and baby food so I'm thinking she's going to start growing a little more now. She's definately a mama's baby, moreso than Regan was and we thought that was bad!

Story Time

We finally gave into the begging and let Regan open the Valentine's presents early. Her and Sidney got lots of books and she proceeded to read them to Sidney after opening them. It was worth letting her open the presents early just to sit and watch this :)

Ryan caught this on his cell phone. They were supposed to be out sledding, but apparently Regan found it more exciting to play at her beloved park (in the middle of winter).

Sidney is doing amazingly well with tummy time. We can't say that she exactly likes it, but she's getting better and better at it! She's almost rolling over too, and we can't wait for that because she prefers sleeping on her tummy; we'd all sleep better knowing she's able to roll if she needs to.

Super bowl fun!

We had our own Super Bowl party at home tonight. We all experienced our very first fondue and it was a hit! But then again, who doesn't like marshmallows, honey sticks and bananas dipped in chocolate. Regan liked it so much that she wants it at her birthday party :)
