It was the perfect night for Regan's first trick or treating experience. With temps in the upper 50's, she and the neighbor kids had a blast running from door to door getting their treats. The expression on her face after getting her first piece of candy was just priceless, she ran back to me and opened her bag to show me her sole piece of candy sitting in her bag. As you can see, she ended up with more candy than any two year old should ever have! Sidney took part in the experience as well, though spent her time snoozing in the stroller :)

Big girl in the swing!
Sidney is finally starting to appreciate all of the baby gear we have setting around the house for her. She enjoys looking at the mobile on her swing (though doesn't yet like to actually swing in the swing) and the Einstein playmat is a favorite, especially when big sister Regan lays down next to her! We're making progress!

6 weeks old!
Sidney is 6 weeks old and hopefully turning into a happier baby! Today she's been smiling more and even doing some "talking". The poor girl continues to spit up constantly and it comes out of her nose too-icky. We know that can't feel good to her but the doctor just says "it's all connected" and not to worry. She's a lot like her sister in that she fights hard to stay awake, even when she's extremly tired and can barely keep her eyes open. We've learned to keep her happy in those crabby times: do squats. Unfortunately, no one can do them all day long without falling over, but mom has been known to try!

Day of fall fun
We started out the morning going to the neighborhood park for a pumpkin giveaway as well as hanging out with all the neighbors. After nap time, we headed to Wood Lake Nature Center for their "Half Haunted Halloween Party"! Both girls got dressed up in their costumes and we walked along the trail playing games, trick or treating and eventually landed in the petting zoo! The highlight was definately the zoo, where Regan got up close to wild turkeys, alpacas, cows, chickens and more! You read that right, all the kids were petting wild turkeys!! Thankfully I had to stay outside of the pen to guard Regan's candy so dad took her in.
Bathtime!
Sidney loves her sponge baths, so we figured she'd love a real bath-WRONG! We caught this picture in between cries. Let's just say she got us back by leaving a nice poopy in the tub for us to clean up; thankfully she was finished with her bath at the same moment and we didn't have to start all over again.

And we let her leave the house like this!
That's right, Regan was playing dress up and daddy asked her to run an errand with him. In an effort to avoid a break-down and upset the whole house, we allowed her to leave the house with all but the heels! Look closely and you'll see her beautiful earrings that she put on all by herself. What a girly girl!

Edinborough Park
Grandma Sheri and Hunter took Regan to Edinborough Park this morning and they all had a blast! Rather than wear Regan out, Regan wore them out with her constant running around and going up and down all the slides! They had lots of stories for mom when they got home. We plan to go back in two weeks for their Halloween Party!

One month old today
Sidney is one month old! Tonight dad tried feeding her a bottle (same contents) and she had a pretty heard time with it. We're following the advice of doctors and introducing it now because we've been told if we wait longer than 6 weeks, she'll have an even more difficult time. Given the fact that she doesn't like a pacifier (and we've tried almost all if them), I'm not surprised she isn't taking to the bottle. If anyone has any tips, feel free to pass them on.
All grown up
Regan's growing up so quickly, we can't believe what a difference two years brings! She helps us set the table and clear it after a meal, put her clothes in the hamper and she loves to help dust (as long as she gets to squirt the cleaner!).
She was so cute in this sweater, our big girl looked like she was headed to school. She's incredibly excited about her new "school" that she will be attending starting in January when mom returns to work. It's so true, "they grow up too fast".

Wide awake!
Although it was short-lived, I grabbed a quick picture of Sidney wide awake this evening. After leaving the doctor's office this morning, she has slept a lot of the day away. He opted to put her on Zantac for what they are assuming to be reflux. Poor girl, hopefully it'll help make the pain go away (and she's obviously getting enough to eat because she weighed in just over 9lbs!). She'll likely continue to spit up, but that's ok because Regan spit up for an entire year! As long as Sidney can turn into a "happy spitter", we'll handle the mess.

Fall Colors
Despite having a 3 week old baby, we decided to head to Highland Park Ski Reserve again this year and ride the chair lift to the top of the hill to view the fall colors. The colors weren't what we thought they'd be (a little too early), but Regan sure enjoyed it! Once at the top, she got up close to an owl and won some Animal Crackers by playing a "toss the fake mouse" game!
Given Grandma Jan's fear of heights, she would've died watching me carry Sidney onto the chair lift! I must admit, I was a little fearful she'd get squirmy and crabby; thankfully she slept through the whole outing.
How to hold a crabby Sidney
It sure looks silly, but this is how Sidney likes to be held when she's crabby (generally we do it while standing and her whole body stretches out). Apparently it's the usual "reflux" hold, which would explain her problem with spitting up. Unfortunately we're taking her in tomorrow morning and the doctor is likely going to prescribe medication for it. She's miserable and that translates into the whole house being miserable, hopefully this will help.
